Game of Thrones season 6 episode 9, Battle of the Bastards lived up to it’s hype and it was a ripper! The death toll in the episode was unprecedented and we got to see some raw action and scenes that made us scream and an ending that involved Ramsay Bolton’s death was brutal and it was a fitting end for him. Overall it was the best episode of the season and one of the best till date. The battle choreography was simply incredible and watching it made you smile with satisfaction. The episode ended on a happy note with the Stark banner on the walls of Winterfell once again and Daenerys made an alliance with Yara and Theon and she’s coming back to Westeros!
However, this is Game of Thrones and the characters still can’t heave a sigh of relief and take rest. HBO has released the preview for the season 6 finale and the center of all the action shifts back to King’s Landing. Cersei is getting ready for her trial and so is Loras Tyrell. He hardly had any role in this season and finally we will get to see him during the trial. The scene is followed by a scene in which we can see a White Raven flying. For those who don’t know, the Archmaesters from Oldtown send out White Ravens to indicate the arrival of Winter. The title of the next episode is Winds of Winter and now we know why. Jon and Sansa might have taken back Winterfell but the danger beyond the Wall still exists and that’s the biggest threat to Westeros at the moment.
We are also taken to the Twins where the Freys are celebrating with the Lannisters and we get to hear the famous line from the Red Wedding once again when Walder Frey modifies it a bit while saying, “The Freys and the Lannisters send their regards.” It will be interesting to see what happens at the Twins. Will we get to see Arya striking some names off her list as she’s finally coming back to Westeros and Walder Frey is on the list and why is Jaime still in the Riverlands? We thought that he was in a hurry to be with Cersei.
Back at Winterfell Petyr Baelish tells Sansa that thought that she knew what he wanted and it really seemed creepy and Davos confronts Melisandre in front of Jon Snow, demanding her to tell Jon what she did with Shireen. It is going to be one emotionally packed scene. We also get to see a glimpse of Bran and we are happy to see him again as we were wondering where he disappeared after being rescued by Benjen. We hope that we will get to see more of Bran and the White Walkers in the episode. Afterall the episode is titled Winter is Coming and what better to indicate that than the White Walkers at the doorsteps of Westeros.
The preview ends with Tyrion giving Daenerys advice, telling her that she’s in the great game now and it is terrifying. Take a look at the preview of the next episode below,
